About me

My method is to tailor each lesson in a way that best meets your distinct goals. Thus, I like to know your specific musical interests. My piano teaching experience (30+ years) includes that of a college instructor (UAA), private school adjunct (Dana Hall School Of Music in Wellesley) and private piano teacher (Weston schools and my own private piano studio). Read a bit about my music study below.

With music theory games and rhythm activities, students learn key musical concepts in a productive yet engaging way. Physical movement is quite an effective way to learn and understand musical rhythm and dynamics. Students are often amazed at how quickly their piano skills evolve as their enjoyment increases. Music education

After earning a B.A. cum laude from Brandeis University, I pursued graduate study in music theory and performance (Brandeis). In addition, I was fortunate to study piano performance for two years with Bela Nagy, award-winning Hungarian concert pianist and educator, former Department Chairman at Boston University and Catholic University.

Teaching workshops

Workshops that focus on teaching young children: Dalcroze Eurythmics / Suzuki Method (Juilliard / University of Alaska).

Master classes

Master classes with internationally renowned pianists, such as Gyorgy Sebok and Bela Nagy (as his student workshop performer).

Music is not in the notes but in the silence between them.
